Daring to be yourself
Gaby was born from a deep need for freedom.
The freedom to create. To be independent.
The freedom not to fit into boxes.
I have always felt things very deeply.
Everything around me. Materials. Colors. Shapes. Atmospheres. People too.
And I deeply believe that a piece of jewelry can transform something. Not just an outfit:
A posture.
An energy.
A way of daring to take your place.
“One Day I’ll Go to Paris”: The Art, the Revelations
As a teenager, I had one certainty: “One day I’ll go to Paris because I want to experience, to feel, the atmosphere of the artists.”
In the early 2000s, I do indeed leave to take fashion design classes at Créapole.
I spend my days working a part-time job, visiting museums and exhibitions, and wandering through artists’ neighborhoods.
The Musée d’Orsay particularly moves me. The Impressionists, the light, the romance, the flowers, the figures…
I feel deeply connected to this world.
I love those times when people took their time. When you saw someone, you were truly there with them. You savored the present moment with that person.
This atmosphere, this need for connection—I find it today at the makers’ markets with you.
Bags, then the obviousness of jewelry
After years working in the restaurant industry and a long journey of self-discovery, I finally give myself permission to create wholeheartedly.
And I start making handbags with mottled fabrics and leather.
I see the admiration in the eyes of my loved ones and something opens up inside me.
A validation that sounds like permission.
In 2009, I have my first designer markets and stockist placements.
Then one day, at a flea market, I come across old black-and-white postcards from the 1910s and 1920s. I’m struck by the contrast of the bright flowers on a black-and-white card. It’s a visual shock, and I say to myself: “I’m going to make jewelry.”
So I take the album of postcards home, turn them into Japanese-style prints, and my first earrings are born almost instantly.
When materials speak to each other
My jewelry was born from the leather and fabric scraps from my bags.
The pieces would fall to the floor, get mixed up… and I could already see the shapes emerging.
Because for me, materials speak to one another.
My inspirations range from:
Art Deco, Japanese-inspired shapes, ancient symbols, ethnic fabrics, urban landscapes, nature, and architecture.
I love geometric shapes, bold lines softened by color and the light of gold.
Gold is always present in my creations. Because it warms and illuminates you.
Jewelry for sensitive and bold women
Over time, and especially after the birth of my daughter, my jewelry has evolved.
More curves. More softness. More light.
I create for women who want to dare… without dressing up.
Those who are introverted but vibrant.
Those who want to feel fully themselves, but don’t yet dare.
I often think of these women who wear a uniform all day.
Jewelry then becomes a personal breath. A way to keep their individuality.
Their sparkle.
More than a piece of jewelry: a feeling
When a woman tries on a piece of jewelry at my stand, I like to take my time.
Observing her face. Her colors. What brings her out.
I want her to feel watched. Seen. Considered. To exist.
When she leaves with her jewelry, something has changed in her eyes.
A little more light.
A little more confidence.
As if the earring had awakened a part of her.
That is what deeply drives me.
Gaby: An Invitation to Break Free from Constraints
The name Gaby comes from Gabrielle Chanel.
A woman who, for me, symbolizes the freedom to dare.
To dare to be oneself, but perhaps different in the eyes of others. To dare to push one's limits. To dare to exist differently.
Through my jewelry, I want to offer this to women: more confidence, more kindness toward themselves, more boldness too.
So they can break free from: "That's not done." "That's not for my age anymore." "I'll never dare."
And simply shine.
Today
I create handcrafted leather and fabric jewelry, made by hand in small batches.
Each piece is designed to be:
- lightweight to wear
- durable
- bright
- comfortable
- unique without being extravagant
I mainly use stainless steel to ensure quality and comfort, even for sensitive ears.
If at markets I help you choose the jewelry that best reveals your radiance, here too I advise you via messaging when you send me your photo.
Tomorrow
My universe continues to evolve.
I want to develop jewelry that is even more vibrational, blending metal, natural stones, and intention.
Creating pieces that support, accompany, and tell something deeply personal.
Always with this same desire: to spread light.
